ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT play WAKEFIELD – Warehouse 23 on Sunday 11th November 2018
It’s been twenty years since a new group called Arrested Development slammed the gangsta dominated world of hip hop with defiant lyrics of hope. Apparently the world was ready for the change as AD became the first ever hip-hop artist to receive the “best new artist” Grammy, (a distinction it still maintains today in that category). In addition, the group also received a Grammy award for “best rap single” for their anthemic prayer-like hit song, Tennessee.
The Arrested Development song, Revolution, would forever be associated with one of the most important movies in black culture. Eighteen years later, the response that comes whenever the group performs this song is inspiring.
For the last eighteen years, Arrested Development has performed sold-out concerts in literally every part of the world. They continue to release new music and find new success in different corners of the globe. Their shows are a celebration of life.
Experiencing an Arrested Development concert is an uplifting and spiritual event wrapped into one big party.

Planet Rock, Zero One Entertainment & 87 Entertainment LTD presents Dan Reed Network and very special guests Mason Hill and Hollowstar.
Dan Reed Network will showcase new material from the upcoming album whilst revisiting the hits and reworking some DRN classics in what promises to be a raucous celebration of their inaugural, global, fan immersive recording project “Origins.” “We wanted to explore the opportunity to make our own decisions and taking ownership of our material, our trajectory and ultimately our love of creating music and entertaining those who support it,” says Dan Reed. “The November UK tour
will be an embodiment of that.” The “Origins” tour is by direct result of Dan Reed Network recording eight songs across three continents in front of 500 fans over the space of six months.
“Our live studio recording days have been a highlight moment in our career,” explains Reed. “Being able to showcase these new songs in a live environment will be a fantastic opportunity to thank and celebrate with those who made them a reality.”The Origins tour will be DRN’s first UK jaunt since gaining rave reviews when they supported Extreme on their critically acclaimed December 2017 UK tour. Says Reed; “The love we were shown on that tour, by not just Extreme and their management, but by those who were queuing outside the venue before the concerts, and the reception they gave us during our set, was a fantastic reminder of what we can accomplish.” Joining the Dan Reed Network on tour in November are two of the best up and coming British rock bands, Mason Hill and Hollowstar.
There’s a whole new wave of energetic rock bands in the UK who are ready to explode,” reflects Reed. “DRN are thoroughly looking forward to sharing the stage with these talented young bands and hopefully we can help be a small part of their rise to the top!”

BLACK GRAPE play WAKEFIELD – Warehouse 23 on Friday 2nd November 2018
The Gig Cartel & Warehouse23 presentsBLACK GRAPE could only have been made in Manchester. The swagger, fun and cryptic humour seem hewn from a city historian AJP Taylor once described as offering an archetypally different way of English urban life to London.
Both Shaun Ryder and Paul Leveridge, known as Kermit, came from edgy-but-cool parts of the city. In Shaun’s case Salford, (though I know better than to designate that side of the Irwell as Manchester in certain company) with Kermit originating Moss Side. For those unfamiliar, ‘the Moss’ lay in the shadow of Manchester City’s old stadium at Maine Road, and was one of the first multi-ethnic areas in Manchester. Black Grape are back on the road, and with new album Pop Voodoo that really does rock the fuck out of the discotheque. It’s a rewind to over twenty years ago and the glory days. Shaun’s word play has never been deployed to such devastating effect, and he scores a bullseye whether he hits the obvious targets (Trump), and the more obscure oneswell, find out for yourself. The world is in a bit of a state right now, and bullshit reigns more than ever, and perversely disguised as candour. We need Manc street sass, intelligence and wit more than ever right now. This album has that in spades.

FISH (ex Marillion Frontman) plays HULL – City Hall on Wednesday 12th December
Following the digital release of his entire solo catalogue in June, which has generated well over a million streams already, FISH has released his brand new single, ‘Man With A Stick’, the first track to be taken from his upcoming EP A Parley With Angels, out September 21st, and the first taste of his final studio album, Weltschmerz.
A brooding blend of minimalist drums and possessing synthesizers, ‘Man With A Stick’ is a reflective and thought-provoking track from Fish. Regarding the single he says, “I was inspired to write this lyric after my father died in May 2016. He was a strong, proud, well-respected man who, like most of us, found growing old difficult. When he reached his mid 80's he was becoming a shadow of his former self and in the last few months of his life he relied more and more on his trusty walking stick to get around.
After he left us I found it hard to look at any old men walking with a stick. I started to think about our relationships with sticks in our lives and how they go from being associated with fun and play to becoming something more sinister and symbols of power eventually supporting us as our strength weakens and old age takes its toll."
The new EP, A Parley With Angels will feature four tracks recorded live at London’s Islington Assembly Hall last year: ‘Emperor’s Song’, ‘State Of Mind’, ‘Circle Line’ and ‘Voyeur’, in addition to two other brand new tracks – ‘Waverley Steps’ and ‘Little Man What Now?’, both of which will also appear on FISH’s final studio album, Weltschmerz.
The EP will be available digitally via all leading DSPs and in physical formats available to buy from Fish’s official site: https://fishmusic.scot/ and at venues on his extensive European tour, which kicks off the day after the EP is released, comprising almost 50 shows in the UK and Europe.
The tour will see him perform the classic Marillion album Clutching At Straws for the final time, as well as material from Weltschmerz. As recently announced by Warners the remastered version of Clutching At Straws will be released on November 23rd.

THE SKIDS play WAKEFIELD – Warehouse 23 on Friday 7th December 2018
“Memories fade, but some linger for a reason. The Skids was the definitive part of my early life. A brilliant adventure into the world of creativity and adulthood”, reflected Richard Jobson prior to the bands’ first tour in almost 40 years.
“Taking these memories and replanting them into 2017 has not been easy. How do you do it? How should it sound? Are we little more than a heritage band? These were the questions rattling around my head as I tried to find a way to celebrate the bands 40th anniversary. The answers ended up being very simple – Don’t over think it – Just do it. Enjoy every minute of it. Play the songs like it might be the last time. Give it everything. And then.there’s the new stuff!!! The beginning of something new rather than the end of something old.”
And so it was, the response to the bands gigs has been phenomenal:
“The buzz generated by the return of the Skids to the nationwide tour circuit has created enough electricity to power a small town. An immense, stunning performance - the same as every date on this tour it seems”. (Ged Babey, Louder Than War)
