From The Jam announce “Setting Sons 40th Anniversary Tour” with support from The Vapors Coming to City Hall, Hull 26th October 2019
From The Jam: Website // Facebook // Twitter SeeTickets: https://www.seetickets.com/tour/from-the-jam-setting-sons- “Blown away by this band- you must see them if you can!” - Jeremy Vine, BBC Radio 2
This autumn From the Jam will tour the UK celebrating the 40th Anniversary of The Jam’s 4th studio album ‘Setting Sons’. The critically acclaimed album reached no.4 in the UK and was the band’s first album to enter the US charts. Succeeding All Mod Cons, the album became a commercial success, earning them their first top ten hit single - The Eton Rifles. Other tracks include Burning Sky, Wasteland and Smithers-Jones.
“We can’t wait to perform the whole of ‘Setting Sons’ live” says vocalist and guitarist Russell Hastings. “The album has been noted as another one of The Jam’s best albums along with ‘All Mod Cons’. It seems that even the obscure album tracks like ‘Little Boy Soldiers’ and ‘Thick As Thieves’ are as popular when we play them live as the hit singles.” says Hastings.
Support comes from The Vapors, who had their big break 40 years ago with The Jam on the original ‘Setting Sons’ tour. Hailing from Surrey, the band formed in 1979 and after establishing themselves locally as an exciting live outfit. From The Jam is comprised of legendary former The Jam bassist Bruce Foxton, Russell Hastings, drummer Mike Randon, and Andy Fairclough on Hammond organ and piano. In 2007 Russell Hastings was fronting ‘The Gift’ (which featured Rick Buckler) when he was joined on stage by Bruce Foxton (who was touring with Casbah Club) for a ‘one off’ performance. This performance sparked the genesis of From The Jam, and an enduring partnership between Foxton & Hastings.
For the last 12 years they have toured relentlessly playing almost 1000 headline shows in the UK. Their ever-increasing fanbase has taken them to Australia, the USA and Japan with a reputation for the kind of incendiary live performances that sealed the legacy of The Jam all those years ago.

DOVES plus IDLEWILD show taking place at HULL – Zebedee’s Yard on Thursday 22nd August 2019
Doves and Idlewild announce Summer show at Hull’s – Zebedee’s Yard - One of British music’s rarest treasures, Doves’ reputation as a committed and consistent albums band is gilded by timeless singles including There Goes The Fear, Pounding and Black And White Town. The Manchester band’s four albums to date, the Mercury Prize-nominated brace of Lost Souls and The Last Broadcast, followed by Some Cities and Kingdom Of Rust stand as monuments of refined song writing craft. Each recalls the band’s broad span of musical reference points, from the glinting riches of golden age soul and gritty garage to the woody rhythms of folk. Beyond their dancefloor-friendly singles, Doves’ universe moved around emotive soundscapes and gently sparkling love letters. Demand for their sell-out live performances saw them routinely headlining festival stages, from repeated Glastonbury appearances to 2003’s Teenage Cancer Trust concerts and the BBC Electric Proms.
Doves stepped off stage in 2010 and Jimi Goodwin, Andy and Jez Williams went their separate ways for an indefinite period. Yet the lines between them remained connected and their three-decade long friendship persisted as the hiatus drew on. In the absence of a plan, the next chapter began to fall into place and in 2018 they announced their long-awaited return. The deafening response to the news that Doves would play their cherished songs again has set the optimistic course for what lies ahead.
Doves promise a superb night of entertainment. Be sure to get your tickets for a perfect Summer’s evening, a gig not to be missed...
